* "Discotek Flake & Powders". Rainbow mirror pigment NOW IN 4 DIFFERENT SIZE MESH GRADES ! All packed in a convenient screw top lid acrylic jar size of choice, or try it out first with our sample baggie! Holds about .25 grams of product to test out.
1️⃣ Ultra Fine Powder is about 10 micron size, one of the finest mesh grades you can find; it looks silvery grey in powder form, and if burnished over polymer clay or burnished into a silicone mold for resin, it will display a very fine rainbow effect on the surface. It also is very sparkly in the sun. A tiny bit goes a long way since it is so fine. Also super amazing for burnishing over nail gel. Small jar holds about 1.5 grams of product, Medium jar holds about 2.50 grams, and Large holds about 4.50 grams. This mesh is sprayable with an air brush or gun.
2️⃣ Fine Flake Powder is a small randomly sized flake-powder with a micron grade of about 20-60μm, brighter than our Ultra Fine Discotek and is very sparkly! Great for all kinds of surface embellishment, resin and nail polish. Small jar holds about 1 gram of product, Medium jar holds about 1.5-2 grams, and Large holds about 3 grams. This mesh is sprayable with an air brush or gun.
3️⃣ Coarse Flake is also a randomly sized flake shape ranging up to 300-1000 μm, incredible mirror and rainbow effect out of this product. Great for lots of "bling" effect on surfaces for embellishment like nail art and can be mixed into resin and nail polish. Small jar holds about 1 gram of product, Medium jar holds about 1.5-2 grams, and Large holds about 3 grams. This mesh "may be" sprayable with an air brush or gun with a large nozzle tip.
4️⃣ NEW! Extra Coarse mesh grade is about twice the size of our regular coarse grade, and is stunning! It's the "Grande" of random sized holo flake designed for cosmetic use on nails, looks amazing on many different mediums and projects. Small jar holds about 1 gram of product, Medium jar holds about 1.5 grams, and Large holds about 2.5 grams.

* Lower temperature safe (to at least 325F+ tested) ~ NOT FOR USE ON LAMPWORKED BEADS. Perfect for polymer clay, nail art and resin work though! We've seen these flakes and powders worked in lots of other low temp artistic mediums. If you can stick it down and seal it with a clear coat, you can use it almost anywhere, so experiment with your favorite objects!
* Safe for body or nail art, however, not recommended for eyes or face, simply because the small particle plastic that can get into the eyes can irritate, but that said, they are cosmetic grade, and solvent safe!
* The awesome guitar photo uses our Ultra Fine Discotek powder for the finish. Our customer, Casey, bought the large jar to finish his Jazzmaster guitar, and said it was enough to have finished about two guitars. 🎸

Many of them are! Each listing gives specific uses or exceptions to a particular pigment, so look for that in the description section. When in doubt, feel free to send a convo.
YES! As a working artist, I love the versatility of using unique pigments across many creative mediums, so I only stock those that are solvent safe, are non-fading, are safe for heated mediums up to at least 400F and of course are non-toxic to our health. All you need is a transparent carrier to suspend the pigments in, or raw polymer clay to put them on the surface, and you're good to go!
Of course! All of our pigments are suitable for nail art and will create amazing unique effects. I would recommend using the flakes or powders with a gel coat medium and UV cure lamp for instant results.
Although our flakes and powders are non-toxic, they should not be considered edible or ingestable. I would stick with food-quality products only.
The original Lumiere Luster line is a new dichroic-like product for lampworking artists, such as myself, which is where the flake's high temp designation originated. But I found that they are just as amazing to work with in other mediums, not just for lampworkers! However, for lampwork or glass enamel use, use only those that are in our "high temp" section to ensure they're safe for glassworking temperatures (1000+ degrees F). If you're not a glassworker, the "high temp" designation is pretty much meaningless, so you're safe to use ANY of the pigments in any medium you like, with beautiful results.

We get that a lot! It's the nature of this particular product. Kind of an industrial marvel if you ask me how lightweight they are! We like to fill the jars right up to the top so it might be a little messy when you first open the jars; we sincerely apologize for this. Just be sure you aren't working with the flakes around any open windows or fans and it should cut down on how much they fly around. Remember: Art is Messy! 😁
Yes. There's quite a few awesome YouTube videos out there about paper embellishment with metallic foils or gilding flakes. Our flake pigments (and powders as well) will work exactly the same as metal leaf or foils. Take a look at this great video for some inspiration and a how-to use with different types of "glues" to stick down the flakes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtq_UeJddyc
In addition to that, we've had some watercolor artists ask if they can make custom watercolor pan pigments with our fine powders and the answer is "yes"! It might take a little fiddling to find the right ratio of pigment to binder, but that's where your creativity comes in. Experiment with our ultra fine Discotek powder or ultra fine super shift powders!
Most likely, yes. I don't know all the different base formulas in soap arts but most of our mica based pigments should work just fine and are cosmetically safe. I would not recommend our chameleon flakes, however, unless it is used as a surface finishing touch (not mixed in). Testing is recommended for coloring and shimmer effects desired.
