* "Agua Verde" is a gorgeous color shifting Lumiere Luster that shifts from bright green, to teal, to deep blue depending on the angle it is viewed.
* As best we can guesstimate for weight/sizing of the FLAKES, weight averages:
Small holds about .25 actual gram weight
Medium holds about .5 actual gram weight
Large jar holds approx 1 gram actual weight.
Sample bag holds a fluffy teaspoon of flakes to test out.
You may get more or less depending on color/type of pigment. These flakes are extremely lightweight, bulky and fragile, each color actually weighs differently. Please see our photos for size comparisons.
* Brilliant reflective rainbow holographic shimmer with color changing qualities depending on viewed angle
* Non-plastic metallic oxide flakes work like fine foil or gold leaf on many mediums
* High temperature safe (to at least 1000F+ tested) for lampworking, great for other low temp mediums too like resin! (see robot charm example - not included for sale in this listing)
* Cosmetic grade and safe for face and nails too! Our pigments are just that; pigments. No other additives are made to them so you can create your own color blends or makeups! Solvent safe!
* PRO TIP: these flakes are extremely lightweight! Make sure you don't have any fans or open drafts in the area where you work. đ
Lumiere Lusters⢠Art Pigments are gorgeous, intensely saturated, color shifting metallic oxide glittering flakes for art and craft embellishment. They work like fine metal foils or gold leaf and can be applied to a multitude of art mediums. We have many beautiful colors to choose from. This listing is for a single FULL jar of pigment by volume of your choice.
Because the nature of our pigments are for specialty fields, and a little goes a long way, you only need small amounts generally, but we offer the 10 grams by volume jars for larger projects. If you're using the pigments for nail art, detailed paintings or detail highlights for your art projects or paper embellishment, or if you just want to test out the pigments, we recommend the 3 gram by volume; our smallest "sampler" size. If you are working with polymer clays, we recommend the 3 or 5 gram by volume size. If you're working the flakes/powders into glass or lampworking, or jewelry size resin work, we recommend the 5 gr. jar. For larger resin, paintings or other craft mediums, go for the 10 gram by volume jars!
Lumiere Luster's⢠larger particle size offer unique shimmer & incredible color changing dimension to many creative mediums. Most of our Lumiere Lusters⢠are very heat tolerant, and can be used in a kiln up to at least 1200F (538C) or higher, and can be embedded in lampworked glass with care. They don't have a specific coefficient, and can safely be used with soft glass (see glass bead example photo; 104 coe), or borosilicate. Ask for our lampworking PDF tutorial! Add them to transparent acrylic bases, resins, waxes or varnish. They may also be used over various mediums & sealed. Lumiere Lusters⢠are non-toxic. Lumiere Lusters⢠are exquisite on polymer clay. A little goes a long way! Simply press down or rub over conditioned raw clay. Layer the lusters with a thin film of a sticky medium such as liquid polymer over top of the lusters to stick more down for added dimension, or control areas for stenciling! Bake your project at the normal curing schedule. Multiple heats are fine, and, because our lusters do not contain any plastics, they will not melt or degrade in the clay. Once cured in the clay, the lusters should be permanent. Sealing is optional, but recommended for jewelry wear. See more at JetAgeStudio.com

Many of them are! Each listing gives specific uses or exceptions to a particular pigment, so look for that in the description section. When in doubt, feel free to send a convo.
YES! As a working artist, I love the versatility of using unique pigments across many creative mediums, so I only stock those that are solvent safe, are non-fading, are safe for heated mediums up to at least 400F and of course are non-toxic to our health. All you need is a transparent carrier to suspend the pigments in, or raw polymer clay to put them on the surface, and you're good to go!
Of course! All of our pigments are suitable for nail art and will create amazing unique effects. I would recommend using the flakes or powders with a gel coat medium and UV cure lamp for instant results.
Although our flakes and powders are non-toxic, they should not be considered edible or ingestable. I would stick with food-quality products only.
The original Lumiere Luster line is a new dichroic-like product for lampworking artists, such as myself, which is where the flake's high temp designation originated. But I found that they are just as amazing to work with in other mediums, not just for lampworkers! However, for lampwork or glass enamel use, use only those that are in our "high temp" section to ensure they're safe for glassworking temperatures (1000+ degrees F). If you're not a glassworker, the "high temp" designation is pretty much meaningless, so you're safe to use ANY of the pigments in any medium you like, with beautiful results.

We get that a lot! It's the nature of this particular product. Kind of an industrial marvel if you ask me how lightweight they are! We like to fill the jars right up to the top so it might be a little messy when you first open the jars; we sincerely apologize for this. Just be sure you aren't working with the flakes around any open windows or fans and it should cut down on how much they fly around. Remember: Art is Messy! đ
Yes. There's quite a few awesome YouTube videos out there about paper embellishment with metallic foils or gilding flakes. Our flake pigments (and powders as well) will work exactly the same as metal leaf or foils. Take a look at this great video for some inspiration and a how-to use with different types of "glues" to stick down the flakes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtq_UeJddyc
In addition to that, we've had some watercolor artists ask if they can make custom watercolor pan pigments with our fine powders and the answer is "yes"! It might take a little fiddling to find the right ratio of pigment to binder, but that's where your creativity comes in. Experiment with our ultra fine Discotek powder or ultra fine super shift powders!
Most likely, yes. I don't know all the different base formulas in soap arts but most of our mica based pigments should work just fine and are cosmetically safe. I would not recommend our chameleon flakes, however, unless it is used as a surface finishing touch (not mixed in). Testing is recommended for coloring and shimmer effects desired.
